About Us - G2 Digital Video Ltd

G2 Digital Video Ltd was formed in 2003, by Greg and Chris Hollidge, as a sister company to G2 Video Systems Ltd.

Founded by Greg Hollidge in 1980, G2 Video Systems designed and manufactured Multi Standard Timebase Correctors and Video overlay products for the broadcast industry.

The aim of the new company was to focus on the developing computer side of the video market that was quickly becoming reliant on the processing power and flexibility that computers could offer.

Many of G2 Digital's first projects were reliant on 'off the shelf' rack computers but the company quickly found it could offer a more flexible products by developing it's own 2U Rack based Video Server - named 'IVE' or Integrated Video Engine.

At the same time Chris Hollidge, G2 Digital Managing Director, wanted to explore the bespoke mini PC market. Using his mechanical engineering background and experience gained from having worked for a Interactive Kiosk company.

Chris wanted to offer a design and manufacture service for projects where the 'average' PC was too large or didn't have the right specification for a particular application.

So in 2005 G2 Digital launched the 'Industrial ITX' mini PC. The product found great interest amongst the Interactive Kiosk and Information Point display companies because it was powerful but small enough to fit in small spaces.

Over the coming years we completed a large project with Land Rover and custom built 250+ PCs for a new Education Establishment.

In 2008 G2 Digital was approached by Green Hippo Ltd who specialize in the events industry and wanted to develop a mini PC that could power one of their LED products.

The initial project was successful and then Green Hippo wanted to develop the product further by offering the same specification in a 1U Rack mounted PC.

At the time we had no idea how popular this new rack mounted PC would become. Over the years it has been constantly developed and is now the single largest selling product that G2 Digital manufacurers.

We have now added a 2U Rack mounted PC to our product list and there are still many developments to come.

G2 Digital Video is now offically a manufacturer of mini PC and Rack PC products focusing on quality products with a first class service. We want to ensure every PC our customer's buy is attractive, reliable and competiviely priced.
